Yes—you will need plans drawn up from an industry professional such as an Architect or a QBCC licenced Building Designer for Certified BA to provide a quote.

At Certified BA we will assess your development within approximately 3-5 business days. It is then up to the applicant to provide the required information to the office. Once all required information is provided Certified BA will issue the approval within a couple of business days.

You can only start building works once the building approval is obtained. That is why Certifed BA provides clear, fast and reliable service to get your project started and finished without delay. 

A planning approval (also known as a DA) is issued by the local council and determines whether a proposed use or development is in accordance with the zoning and land use regulations.

In most cases, our team at Certified BA can determine if the proposal requires a planning application.

Planning approvals are issued by local councils and related to zoning and land use, while building approvals are issued by building certifiers and cover the physical building structure and safety standards.

We do—private building certifiers like our expert team at Certified BA, issue building approvals.

If the proposal is in accordance with the planning scheme and/or other required development controls, it will not require a planning permit and can go straight to the building approval process.

When required a planning approval must be obtained before a building approval is issued.

Building Regulation 2021 (QLD) Schedule 1 outlines what is self-assessable building work, meaning no building approval is required.
